I've been in this working full-time, being a mum and blogging journey for
eight months now. And we also moved home three months ago, need I say it's
been busy over here? Busy like I-don't-even-have-time-for-online-shopping
busy or I-have-ten-friends-waiting-for-my-reply-on-what'sapp busy.
The question is: how can you keep going when you're trying to juggle so
many things at once?
Two years ago I had no idea how much things were about to change. I never
even thought back then about toddler-proofing rooms, let alone all the
details that go into it.
Our daughter was born 17 months ago and SO MUCH has changed since! We
obviously wouldn't have it any other way, but I now think of every single
proofing detail when I'm decorating a room, whether the furniture can
safely be attached to the wall to prevent tipping, or using toddler-proof
accessories to decorate my fire surround (it does take a bit of
compromising...)
Just before I share an exciting mood board for my living room, lets talk
about all those steps needed before you start a room makeover. Before you
get started, it's super important to decide what your end goal is, and it
sounds so obvious but you should really think about the purpose of the room
and then plan to meet that purpose!
Every week I spend so much time looking for some amazing home objects of
desire, chairs that make dreams come true, light pendants to glam up any
room and accessories that make your house your own unique space.
With the kitchen makeover done, I am now moving onto the lounge. We have
already had some things done to it such as building a fire surround,
hanging the TV on the wall and getting all the blinds ordered and some are
already up! (All of that and more to come soon in a post!)
The flooring is also picked, so next for me was to pick my wall coverings -
the most exciting part as that's what will complete this room and inject
tons of individuality making it truly ours! I have a colour scheme in mind:
teal feature with blush half-painted wall with the remaining off-white to
leave the room light and airy.
